I'm a freelance journalist and I am also suffering from this debilitating illness. Blepharosapasm has,over a matter of months made me virtually a prisoner in my own home. Always an extremely independent person I cannot now leave the house without a companion whose elbow I can grab if my eyes decide to clamp shut at any given moment. I am a divorced mother of 3 and the youngest,12 years old, has started to have panic attacks at school from the stress of constantly worrying about me.I'm now totally dependent on friends, family and neighbours to do my shopping or for anything that involves leaving my house, as I can no longer drive and the motion of walking renders me instantly blind.I have two big dogs who I loved to walk for miles on the beach, but after an incident where I went 'blind' when I was still 2 miles from home and had to find my way back while hanging onto the dogs and almost ended up in the river!SoI can no longer enjoy this simple pleasure. I am having more tests done but the symptoms are exactly as Candia describes.It is an horrific experience to be walking down a street on what you had thought was a good day and to suddenly find yourself in the dark, and staggering around like a drunk. I don't know why but I was just thinking of Bibeji and I wanted to see Bibeji's picture so I googled it and found the article and seen Bibeji's picture. My family are related to Bibeji and to me she was one of my favourite Bibeji's. I loved seeing her in the Gurdwara and going up to her and greeting her. She always smiling and blessed me. I miss Bibeji alot and I will never forget her.

This is surreal, but quite wonderful ! haha.

Hi, I've just been notified about this article in the Times last Fri (27.03.09) on the ghostly image at Tantallon Castle.

I am a photography student at Stevenson college, and as part of my course work I was to capture some Infrared images both on digital and 35mm film. I captured 4 images in Greyfriars graveyard, which there is no denying some strange images in the digital..

I have been wondering what to do with these images, i haven't edited them, or posted them anywhere on the net. I would be grateful if you possibly help me contact Prof Richard Wiseman about my images, or if you could recommend a way to get my images checked.

Some strong comments there but is what is being done legal? Do you actually own one sq. ft. of an estate in Scotland (Note: not a one sq, ft. Estate.). If the answer is 'Yes' then there is no con. It seems to me that if the word 'Laird' means a landholder in Scotland then the amount of land is immaterial. It may all be a bit of a laugh and not to be taken to seriously but if it's legal then it's not a con.

The Fields of Athenry isn't sectarian, and the article doesn't say that. The headline might imply it, but I don't write the headlines.

The body copy does refer to the "allegedly sectarian" song - but that means its sectarianism was alleged by people quoted in an article in the the Glasgow Herald.

I was effectively writing in response to that article and the people I spoke to - academics, the song writer himself, and a fairly well known Rangers supporter, all agreed with me that the song isn't sectarian in the slightest.

too freakin right! all these lochaber fakes are just pathetic. i was just 'googleing' my last name (laird) just because its 1am over here and theres not much for an insomniac to do in my house, and i was shocked to find out that you can now buy the title held throughout my ancestry.. and worse than that but for chump change, is that really all its worth nowadays. These people have turned a once honourable title into some pathetic gimmick to have a laugh at, my ancesters would be turning in their grave!
